Aberdeen goalkeeper Joe Lewis recently delighted the Dons fans by signing a new five-year deal at the club. Some recent comments he has made will delight the Dons fans even more.
Lewis has disclosed that his one ‘aim’ is to bring a trophy back to Pittodrie. The Dons have come close with Lewis in the team, but as yet have not picked up silverware.
The goalkeeper hopes to change that sometime over the next five years.
“You want to win things and the clubs I have played for haven’t always been so stable as this one” he said, as reported by the BBC.
“Definitely an aim”
“Silverware is something we need to aim for, I have just fallen short in my time here, but that’s definitely an aim.”
With Lewis committing to Aberdeen for so many years, you would imagine that their chances of winning a trophy have improved.
Solid base to build on
He is one of the best goalkeepers in Scotland, and now the Dons have a solid base to build on.
It is now up to Derek McInnes and the Aberdeen board to bring in some other players that will complement Lewis in the Aberdeen side.
If they can do that, Lewis may well meet his aim of bringing a trophy back to the supporters.
