Craig Levein has admitted that Hearts’ performances against Rangers this season have irritated him. The Tynecastle side have lost on the three occasions the teams have played so far this season.
Ahead of Saturday’s final meeting of the sides this season at Tynecastle, Levein used the word ‘frustrating’ to describe the Jambo’s performances in the games.
“Our games against Rangers have been frustrating this season because we have shot ourselves in the foot in nearly all of them by giving away early goals” he told Sky Sports News, as cited by Sky Sports.
Despite the errors, Levein is confident that his team can defeat Rangers for the first time this season.
“We will try to take the game to Rangers and win.”
Levein’s team will at least go into the game full of confidence. Hearts defeated Inverness 3-0 in the Scottish Cup semi-final on Saturday, to set up a Scottish Cup Final with Celtic in May.
The Tynecastle side will be hoping to go into the cup final on a good run of form in the league, a win over Rangers would kickstart that.
It would also help Hearts in their battle in the league with bitter rivals Hibs. Hibs are currently above Hearts by two points in the league table. That can all change in the weeks to come, Levein will be hoping that starts against Rangers.
