Hearts seem to be in a bit of a rut at the moment, despite reaching next month’s Scottish Cup Final. Fans don’t seem to be satisfied with the performances under Craig Levein.
The latest set-back saw the Tynecastle side meekly lose 3-1 to Rangers, a result which saw them fall three points behind bitter rivals Hibs in the league table.
Hearts chairwoman Ann Budge will be watching the upcoming Edinburgh derby at Easter Road very closely.
Defeat would go down badly

A defeat for Levein’s side would go down very badly. It would also leave Hearts likely to finish behind Hibs for the second season in a row. That would not be acceptable for the club’s support.
Should Hearts lose at Easter Road, Ann Budge could have a big decision to make. It is highly unlikely Levein would be sacked, especially with the cup final only a month away, but should Hearts lose then perhaps a statement could be made about Levein’s future.

It would probably be best for all at Tynecastle if a new manager is appointed at the helm for next season. But that seems unlikely at the moment.
Morale-boosting victory is required

What Hearts really need is a morale-boosting win at Easter Road, like the one they had in December. That would get the pressure off Levein.
A Hearts win would give the team plenty of confidence heading into the cup final. A loss however, would make things even more fraught at Tynecastle.
