Derek McInnes hoping for good news on injury front

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is hoping for some good news on the injury front.

Shay Logan missed the 2-2 draw with St Mirren as he had an ankle injury. Tommie Hoban was stretchered off during the game with a knee injury.

“Shaleum has had the scan and there was a wee bit of positive news on that” he told the Evening Express.

“Hopefully we can find a way to get Shaleum back on to the pitch as quickly as possible. It is a knee injury with Tommie and we will get him scanned. Hopefully we get good news.”

The injury crisis has come at a bad time for the Dons, with Scott McKenna currently suspended. The centre-back will miss the upcoming trip to St Johnstone.

McInnes will be hoping that Logan and will be available for the Scottish Cup tie against either Rangers or Kilmarnock, which takes place a week on Sunday.

If the Dons are going to reach the semi-final of the Scottish Cup it is vital that as many players as possible return to the first team.

McKenna’s suspension will be over by then, which is a bonus, but McInnes will be looking to have either Logan or Hoban also available.
