Zak Rudden is reportedly a target for Dundee according to the Scottish Sun, as the Dee look for new recruits to help secure an immediate return to the Premiership.

The Rangers striker had a disappointing end to the season on loan at Falkirk, suffering relegation to League One with the Bairns. In fairness to the young striker, he was the club’s standout player throughout the season.

He doesn’t seem to be in Gers boss Steven Gerrard’s plans next season, so he is on the lookout for a new temporary club. James McPake’s Dundee would be a brilliant home for him.

Rudden moving to Tayside could be beneficial for everyone involved.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

Rudden needs minutes that Dundee can provide

You would like to think the Dee will be near the top end of the Championship. Partick Thistle’s return to the Championship, however, proves that anything can happen in Scotland’s second tier.

This is why Rudden is such a good option for Dundee. Surrounded by good players like Andrew Nelson and Kenny Miller, he’ll be able to create lethal partnerships that could fire the Dee up the table.

Similarly, if McPake did struggle to get the Dens Park side going, he’d be well equipped to fight near the bottom. He has felt the pain of one relegation. The striker won’t want that feeling again. Hopefully for Dundee that will be a situation they won’t need to deal with.

The Scotland youth international performed well in a terrible Championship team. If you put him in a decent one, he could become one of the league’s best strikers.

Dundee need some new firepower and Rudden needs another loan spell to prove he can play Premiership football, whether that’s at Rangers or elsewhere. McPake’s side could be a good fit for him and he could benefit the Dee.
