Partick Thistle goal hero Christie Elliot is confident the Jags can defeat Hearts in their Scottish Cup quarter-final replay.
The Thistle full-back believes the incentive of playing fellow Championship side Inverness in the semi-final will be enough to drive the players to give it their all at Tynecastle.
“It is a massive incentive” he told the Evening Times.

“It is a game we know we can win but obviously we have to put the Hearts replay first and foremost. It is the best draw we could have asked for in that we avoided Celtic and Rangers.”

If Thistle are to reach the semi, they will have to play far better than they did in the 1-1 draw against Hearts.
The Tynecastle side dominated the game at Firhill, but were unable to add to Christophe Berra’s early goal. That came back to haunt them, as Elliot’s second-half strike sent the game to a replay.

Normally, Thistle’s battle to avoid relegation from the Championship would take precedence over the cup.
But with a semi-final place against Inverness on the line, it’s no surprise thoughts are turning to the replay.
Thistle will still be massive underdogs to get through, but anything can happen in the cup. They should give it their best shot. They’ve got nothing to lose.
