We continue our season review of the most significant players in Scottish football with a look at Hibernian striker Marc McNulty’s 2018/19 season.

He might not have spent a long time at Hibernian, but striker Marc McNulty certainly made an impression in his loan spell with the Easter Road side.

A great signing

McNulty arrived from Reading in January, and he turned out to be a great signing.

In his 18 games for Hibs, he managed to score seven goals, helping his team finish in the top six and ahead of city rivals Hearts in the league table.

So good were McNulty’s performances for Hibs that he earned a call-up to the Scottish national team.

Desperate to bring player back

Such was McNulty’s impact that head coach Paul Heckingbottom will be desperate to bring him back to Easter Road next season.

The player has admitted that he would like to return to Easter Road if possible. For now though he has returned to Reading.

If he does return to Hibs, the Easter Road side would be hoping that he could hit at least 15 goals a season. That would be a huge help in their quest to get back into Europe.

However, it remains to be seen if he will return to Easter Road. Hibs will fervently hope that he does, as McNulty has already proved himself in his brief spell in Edinburgh.
