Legendary Aberdeen striker Eric Black is not surprised by the improvement in Sam Cosgrove’s game this season.
The Dons attacker is having the best season of his career, having scored 20 goals this season. And having worked with the player at Blackburn, Black always knew that Cosgrove had the potential to be a top striker.
“I worked with Sam at Blackburn, and he’s the most dedicated professional you will ever meet” Black told the Press and Journal.
“He’s got good people around him, and they have improved him massively. But Sam won’t think he’s made it – that’ll be the last thing on his mind.”
Cosgrove’s abilities as a striker will next be put to the test on Sunday. The Dons take on Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
The striker has managed to find the score sheet against Celtic this season, scoring a penalty in a 4-3 defeat in December.
That is bound to give him confidence heading into the game at Hampden. As are the comments from Black, who obviously believes that Cosgrove can improve even more as a player.
That is for the future though. For now, Aberdeen fans will want to see Cosgrove continue his good form of the season against Celtic. Should that happen, the Dons have a great chance of returning to the Scottish Cup Final.
