Falkirk co-managers David McCracken and Lee Miller say the appointment of former Norwich City and Livingston man Gary Holt as sporting director shows ambition at the League One club.
The ex-Livi boss makes his return to the Falkirk Stadium in an upstairs role. He left the Bairns in 2014 as Norwich City came calling with a first-team coaching position, where he has also worked as a player and in youth development, staying for two years before becoming Livingston boss in 2018.

He resigned in late 2020 after keeping the Lions in the Premiership in two consecutive seasons, the latter of which he finished 5th in. Now back at the Bairns as they look to move back into the Championship, McCracken and Miler are thrilled.
They say it’s great for them as young coaches: “We’re really looking forward to working with Gary and he is someone we both know well. The Board has been completely open with us as they’ve gone through their selection process and encouraged our involvement.
“We recognise that there’s much we can learn from him as young coaches but also being able to tap into his extensive network of contacts. This is a really exciting time for Falkirk Football Club and like everyone else we’re just eager to get back playing with our eyes firmly focused on a successful end to the season.”

It’s caught the imagination of fans too, many hailing the appointment of the Norwich City favourite as a good one, Holt stating he has a ‘five-year’ plan for the Bairns.

Welcome back to the club Gary! Hopefully the wealth of experience with Norwich’s academy bodes well with a return of our own youth development programme
