Former Hibs midfielder Liam Henderson made history over in Italy last night, becoming the first Scotsman to play in the top flight of Italian football since 1986.
He joins an exclusive list of Scots to have played in Serie A. The Hibees Scottish Cup winner has followed in the footsteps of Denis Law, Joe Jordan and Graeme Souness by appearing in the country’s top flight.

Souness was the last, having played for Sampdoria in 1986. Now Henderson will be the latest Scot to try his hand at Serie A football.
Former Hibs man Henderson off to a decent start
Henderson currently ply’s his trade with Hellas Verona in Italy, a far cry away from his former club Hibs.
His ambition to challenge himself has paid dividends. After securing promotion to Serie A last season after a good term in the second division, Henderson was handed his top flight debut.

Verona played out a 1-1 draw with Bologna, a decent result given the circumstances. They played 83 minutes of the match with ten men after Pawel Dawidowicz received a red card.
Henderson himself was booked but didn’t see red like his Polish teammate. A Miguel Veloso strike was enough to salvage a point for Verona.
Hibs fans know Henderson best from his part in Hibs’ 2016 Scottish Cup success. They’ll be delighted he is delivering the goods over in Italy.
