Former Hibs midfielder Gael Bigirimana has declared himself a big fan of head coach Paul Heckingbottom. Bigirimana was unable to force himself into the Hibs side in a short spell at Easter Road.

However, he was very impressed by Heckingbottom’s man-management skills.

“I have high hopes for Paul in his time at Hibs, I loved his sessions and teaching,” he said, as reported by the Evening News.

“He’s probably the best coach I’ve worked under in terms of man management.”

Bigirimana’s comments will please the Hibernian support no end. Even though he was only at Easter Road a short time, he could see what Heckingbottom would bring to Hibs.

Skills have worked a treat

You have to say that Heckingbottom’s man-management skills have worked a treat so far. He managed to lead Hibs from being a team that was struggling in the bottom-half of the table to one that easily finished in the top six.

They also managed to overhaul bitter rivals Hearts to finish as the top team in Edinburgh for the second season in a row.

Hibs’ form tailed off a bit in the final weeks of the season but by then Heckingbottom had done his job. Any Hibs fans reading Bigirimana’s quotes will be excited for what next season will bring at Easter Road.
