Hearts legend Gary Mackay has identified how the Tynecastle side can defeat Celtic in next week’s Scottish Cup Final.
He wants his old team to follow the blueprint established by Rangers in their recent 2-0 win over Celtic.
“I’d like to think we will have learned from how Rangers approached that game” he said, as reported by the Evening Express.
“A good tactic”

“Sitting off until a certain point in the pitch and then pressing with energy and legs could be a good tactic for Hampden.”
Hearts can take hope for the cup final in the fact that they defeated Celtic 1-0 in the first league meeting of the teams this season.

However, in the two games since then, Celtic have emerged victorious, winning 5-0 and 2-1. The teams meet in the league at Celtic Park on Sunday, but it will be difficult to take a lot from that game as both teams will rest players ahead of the cup final.

Hearts boss Craig Levein does know how to get results against Celtic on occasion. He memorably led Hearts to a 4-0 win over Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic last season.
However, his team will have to be at their very best if they are to win the cup final.
Copying the tactics employed by Rangers in their recent win over Celtic could well be a way to success for the Tynecastle side.
