The Jambos confirmed the news on their official website as they also announced the addition of Jamin Nwanze to their under-18 squad.

The 19-year-old Pole signed for the club in August 2017 from Gornik Zabrze but only managed one first-team appearance before spending time on trial with GKS Jastrzebie in January.

Gajda was under contract until summer 2020 but Tynecastle boss Craig Levein has decided to part ways early.

His only appearance came in the 2017 League Cup defeat by St. Mirren and he’s been largely restricted to reserve football since.

Despite representing Poland at various youth levels, Gajda struggled to kick on after winning a deal at Tynecastle and it’s no surprise to see him leave.

Levein’s side were short on bodies defensively earlier in the season and Gajda couldn’t get a look in so his das in Gorgie have looked numbered for a while.

Teenage defender Nwanze joins from St. Patrick’s Athletic on an 18-month contract and will hope to impress in John Rankin’s youth side.

It’s unlikely he’ll be pushing for a first-team place any time soon as he makes the transition from part-time football.
