Hibernian have brought their search for a new manager to replace Paul Heckingbottom to an end after they confirmed Jack Ross as the new man in the hot seat at Easter Road – and the Hibees on Twitter are delighted that the former Sunderland boss is taking the reins at Hibs.

Ross had spells playing with Clyde, Hartlepool United, Falkirk, St Mirren, Hamilton Academical and Dunfermline Athletic before starting his coaching career at city rivals Hearts.

After leaving Tynecastle, Ross branched out on his own and impressed at Alloa Athletic and St. Mirren before returning to English football with Sunderland.

A difficult spell at the Black Cats came to an end recently and Ross wasn’t out of work for long as he looks to reinvigorate the Hibees after a poor start to the campaign.

After Heckingbottom’s exit, Ross will need to get the Easter Road side heading in the right direction quickly – but should have the players at his disposal to start climbing up the table.

Hibs fans on Twitter seem delighted with the move – with one saying the “season starts now.”
