According to reports, Greg Taylor is very close to completing his switch from Kilmarnock to Celtic.
The left-back has been absent from Killie’s past two league squads as doubt lingers over his future. Now a report has claimed he has undergone a Hoops medical and could be in the squad for Celtic’s match against Rangers (Daily Record).

If this is true, then it’s a big blow for Angelo Alessio and the Rugby Park club.
Kilmarnock can’t replace seemingly Celtic-bound Taylor
Niko Hamalainen has played well in first two Kilmarnock games, but he isn’t on the level Taylor is at.
At the age of just 21, he made over 100 appearances for Killie and is now a Scotland international. For all the money they’ll get for him, it’s not going to replace him.

A recent report provided Kilmarnock fans with hope that they had fended off interest from Celtic in their full-back (Daily Record). It seems as though they have recognised Taylor’s true worth.
The report claimed Killie wanted £3 million for him. If Celtic have stumped up that amount or thereabouts, then the Rugby Park side have no choice but to accept. It’s a big sum of money for a club like the Ayrshire side.
It doesn’t make the task of replacing him any easier. With just a couple of days worth of transfer activity left, there won’t be much time for Alessio to sign a suitable replacement.

This transfer will be good for Kilmarnock financially it seems, but on the park, it is a real damaging blow for them.
