Overall, you can’t say that Hearts’ 1-1 draw with St Mirren is the best result for the Tynecastle side. They would have expected to beat the side bottom of the Premiership.
But the result would have been far worse if not for the intervention of goalkeeper Zdenek Zlamal.

Zlamal, restored to the team in place of Colin Doyle, pulled off a fabulous save in the second-half to prevent Clevid Dikamona scoring an own goal which would had given St Mirren the lead.
Zlamal’s save earned the Jambos a point, and now Craig Levein has a selection dilemma on his hands. Will he choose to keep Zlamal in goals for Wednesday night’s match against Celtic?

The answer would have to be ‘yes’ at the moment. Zlamal seems to be the man in form after his save against St Mirren. Whilst conversely, Doyle has to get back in the good books after his mistake against Motherwell.
A fascinating dilemma would be if Zlamal has a bad game against Celtic. He did in the Betfred Cup semi-final, and Levein will be hopeful he improves on that performance.
That last thing he wants is two have two goalkeepers out of form. For the moment, it seems like Zlamal will be the number one goalkeeper going forward. But he could be only one mistake away from losing his gloves to Doyle once more.
