Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson has spoken of his fears that Derek McInnes could leave the club in the summer.
McInnes is one of the main candidates for the Scotland job, and Ferguson feels that the departure of the man who introduced him into the Aberdeen first-team would be a big blow.

“It would be a huge blow because of what’s he done for this club. He’s been fantastic” he said, as reported by the Press and Journal.
“He’s been different class with this club over the past six years, so I can understand why Scotland are interested. It’s up to Scotland who they pick but if he goes it would be a huge blow.”

Any move would need to be made quickly
With Scotland in action next month, any SFA move for McInnes would have to be done as soon as the season ends.

It will be interesting to see McInnes’ reaction should he be offered the Scotland job. He would have to decide between the national team or a rebuilding job at Aberdeen.
At the moment, both of the jobs have their good and bad points. However, given that McInnes has been at Aberdeen so long, it would be odd to see him just walk away from the club.
The next week could prove to be interesting at the very least at Pittodrie.
