Dundee United boss Tam Courts has hailed Manchester United loanee Dylan Levitt’s rocket in the 2-0 win over Motherwell last night as a “real moment of magic” from the Welshman.

Levitt scored the opener before Tony Watt opened his Dundee United account with a goal against his former side to help United leapfrog Motherwell into fourth place in the league.

Levitt rifled the ball home from the edge of the area after Motherwell failed to clear their lines properly and Courts knew the moment it left the Manchester United loanee’s boot that it was hitting the back of the net.

“Dylan’s goal was again a real moment of magic,” added Courts.

“As soon as the ball fell, you couldn’t have better hand-picked someone for it to fall to.

“He caught it so sweet and it was another big moment in front of the fans.

“That’s the trials and tribulations of being a football manager. It’s a long season.

“The league, over the last couple of months has become really tightly condensed.

“We came back after the New Year and arrested a bit of a slump and resuscitated the team and got ourselves back functioning again.

“The next part of the challenge for the players tonight was to put a performance in and really excite the home fans.

“It’s a huge three points because the incentive was there for us to try and get ourselves into fourth with a hard fought win.”

Levitt’s goal capped off an impressive performance from the midfielder that saw him have 56 touches and complete 30 of his attempted 40 passes (75%).

So far he’s made 17 appearances for the Terrors, scoring twice, as Courts’ side look to push on and secure European football next season.
