Aberdeen loanee Max Lowe is confident that the Dons will qualify for Europe despite the recent defeat to Hearts. The Dons lost 2-1 to Hearts on Saturday, a result which saw them drop to fourth in the league table.

Despite the loss, Lowe, who is on loan from Derby County, thinks that the Dons are more than good enough to make Europe.

“It is not a concern” Lowe told the Evening Express. “We need to back ourselves to get back in there in that spot.

“Aberdeen are a massive club that need to be in Europe. If you look at our squad we are more than strong enough to do that.”

The Dons currently have two chances to get into Europe.

Not only are they in a battle with Kilmarnock for third place, but they face Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final in just under two weeks’ time.

However, the Dons will have to up their performances if they want to make Europe via the league or the Scottish Cup.

Aberdeen fans will be delighted with Lowe’s comments. It is good to see that a player has confidence in his team-mates.

The fans will want to see action rather than words though. Beginning with the game against Motherwell on Wednesday night.

A win over the Steelmen will put the Dons back on track in their battle for third place.
