Aberdeen fans will not be looking forward to Celtic’s visit to Pittodrie on Saturday. The league leaders only need a point to win the league title.

The Aberdeen support will not want to see Celtic celebrate winning the title at their stadium. That is why they will be delighted with recent comments by Dons defender Max Lowe.

Lowe seems determined to ensure that the Dons prevail and prevent Celtic from clinching the title.

“The last thing we want to see is another team celebrating the title on our ground. We don’t want to see that at our place” he told the Press and Journal.

“We are not going to let them win the league easily at Pittodrie on Saturday.”

It should be pointed out that Aberdeen do still have something to play for this season.

Game is important for Aberdeen

They are in a battle with Kilmarnock for third place in the Premiership, and are only ahead of the Rugby Park side by three points.

Therefore, it is important to Derek McInnes’ side that they don’t lose to Celtic, to maintain their lead over Kilmarnock.

If the rest of the Aberdeen team adopt the attitude displayed by Lowe, the Dons could well put off any Celtic celebrations for at least a week.
