Dundee manager Jim McIntyre believes his team are ‘capable’ of pulling off a huge shock and getting a result against league leaders Celtic on Sunday.

The Dens Park side might be second bottom of the league. However, McIntyre insists that his team can get a result if they play to the best of their abilities.

“We’ve got a lot of work to do to get the right result but, on our day, we’re capable” he told the Evening Telegraph.

It would certainly be a huge shock if Dundee managed to even get a point from Celtic this weekend. When the teams played at Dens Park in October, Celtic cruised to a 5-0 win.

However, McIntyre could take heart from the last time a member of the Old Firm came to Dens Park. Dundee battled to a 1-1 draw with Rangers, despite being reduced to 10 men for 70 minutes.

Dundee will need to show those battling qualities once more if they want to get the result against Celtic.

The Dark Blues could really do with getting a point. There is a damager they could be bottom of the league by the time they face the league leaders.

Bottom of the league St Mirren play St Johnstone on Saturday, they will be confident of getting a result there.

Dundee might well have to respond to that, at least their manager sounds confident.
