Sherwin Seedorf has enjoyed a fantastic start to life at Motherwell. He’s eager to be more than just his second name and Fir Park is the perfect place for him to achieve that.

A distant relative of AC Milan legend Clarence, the winger has been electric in Motherwell’s opening League Cup games. He scored his first senior goal against Queen of the South before providing an assist against Morton most recently.

Recently, Seedorf told the BBC that he wants to be his own player, ‘not just my last name’.

He’s started well, and soon enough, people will know he is more than just a relative of Clarence.

Seedorf will be big for Motherwell

Motherwell fans will be rushing to get Seedorf on the back of their tops. It won’t be because of the name’s history though, it’s because their exciting winger is turning in performance after performance.

Seedorf looks like he can emulate the recently departed Gboly Ariyibi and Jake Hastie. He has pace to burn and is a very good technical dribbler. Despite not being the tallest, Seedorf is no lightweight either.

It’s been all rosy so far and he’ll look to benefit from the Well’s renowned transfer policy. Bringing in young players or stars in need of a boost, giving them game time and selling them on to the highest bidder.

The 21-year-old has undoubted talent and will be a big hit at Fir Park. He’s exciting to watch and will tear defences apart this season, if he continues to play the way he’s started.

With more impressive performances though, the Well winger will be remembered as a star in his own right, not just a relation of a football legend.
