It looked like it was going to be a poor start to Brian Rice’s start as Hamilton head coach.

The Accies were trailing Dundee 1-0 in a vital clash at the bottom of the Scottish Premiership table.

A defeat looked on the cards, until Darian MacKinnon popped up with a 90th minute equalizer.

The official Hamilton Twitter account announced the goal in style.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw, a decent start for Rice.

It also stops the Accies from dropping down into the relegation play-off places.

Obviously Rice would have wanted a winning start to his time as in charge at New Douglas Park.

But a draw isn’t bad, particularly when you consider the circumstances of the result.

If Hamilton had conceded a last minute goal, there would have been an air of resignation around the club.

However, getting a draw in the last minute puts a positive spin on the result.

Rice really does have to start winning games soon though.

Hamilton have now went nine league games in a row without a win, which is desperate form.

Rice has to turn this around, and his next chance will come on Wednesday night in a home match v St Johnstone.

That is a match Accies really should be looking to win.
