Partick Thistle star Chris Erskine could be set for a Firhill exit – and it will only come back and bite Thistle.
The Maryhill side confirmed on Tuesday that an approach had been made but insisted Erskine’s future was in his own hands.

The midfielder is a huge fan favourite at Firhill and the decision to allow him to move on will only further alienate manager Gary Caldwell from the fanbase.
Despite not being in particularly great form, Erskine’s contribution to Thistle has seen many fans on social media jump to the players’ defence.
With Thistle stuck at the foot of the Championship table, there’s already a growing sentiment that Caldwell might not be the right man for the job.

Allowing Erskine to move to their division rivals simply doesn’t add up.
If Thistle want to avoid the shame of back-to-back relegations then letting guys who hold the club in such high regard is a step backwards.
Caldwell might have a masterplan up his sleeve that makes Erskine surplus to requirements – but he’ll need to unveil it soon.

If he doesn’t, he might end up following Erskine out the door sooner rather than later.
Erskine has made 283 appearances for Thistle, scoring 55 times and chipping in with 48 assists.
