Scott McKenna has admitted that he wants to win the Scottish Cup before he eventually moves on from Aberdeen.
The centre-back has disclosed that he doesn’t want to be in a group of players that haven’t won a trophy for the Pittodrie side.
“I don’t want to be in the generation that didn’t achieve anything” he told the BBC.

“I don’t know when I will move on but, if I’m going to leave Aberdeen, I want to do it with a Scottish Cup.”
McKenna has a chance to reach the Scottish Cup Final with the Dons this season, as they take on Celtic in the semi-final on Sunday at Hampden Park.

McKenna’s comments about his future are intriguing. They could be taken as an admission that he is not going to be Aberdeen for that much longer.
That could explain his desperation to win a trophy before potentially moving on to a new club.

Aberdeen have not won a trophy since 2014. They have come close in recent years. Indeed, earlier this season they lost to Celtic in the Betfred Cup Final.
For McKenna to reach his goal, he and his team-mates will need to put in an excellent performance against Celtic.
They have already won in Glasgow in the tournament this season, so it can be done. And if it is done, McKenna will be a big reason why.
