Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has disclosed that he would be eager to secure midfielder Dominic Ball on a permanent deal at Pittodrie.
That would be good news for the Dons after they missed out on a reported transfer target.
The Scottish Sun recently revealed that the Dons were set to make a summer move for Livingston’s Scott Pittman in the summer.
However, the player has signed a new two-year deal at Livingston. The Dons can get over the blow of losing out on Pittman, with a deal for Ball.
Derek McInnes told the Press and Journal that there is a ‘good chance’ that the loanee could move to the Dons on a permanent basis.
Ball will be a free agent in the summer, as his deal with Rotherham United expires. Therefore, that could give the Dons a good chance to swoop in and sign him.
Ball has been a significant player for the Dons this season. He has made 31 appearances, and played in a variety of positions.
He has mostly been used at right-back. And he will be a key man for the Dons in their upcoming Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic.
It is too early to tell where Ball will be playing next season. But it is a good sign for the player that Derek McInnes is so keen to keep him at the club.
