Aberdeen’s Scottish Cup clash with Queen of the South is one of the most intriguing ties in the last sixteen of the competition.
The Doonhamers won’t have any fear about travelling to Pittodrie, as they have a lethal striker in their side – Stephen Dobbie.
Dobbie’s statistics this season are quite remarkable. He has scored 37 goals in 31 appearances. Perhaps his most notable performance of the season was in the last round of the Scottish Cup.
He ripped Dundee apart, scoring a hat-trick in Queens’ 3-0 victory.
Dobbie has played for many clubs in the past, but he has never been as prolific as this before. Last season he scored 26 goals, a number he has already bettered this term.
It will be interesting to see if Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has any special plans in place to keep Dobbie quiet.
Scott McKenna is suspended after his midweek red card against Rangers, and he is a player the Dons would have been counting on to keep the prolific striker quiet.
McInnes will have his team well-drilled to make sure that Dobbie isn’t a factor in the game. But with his scoring record, how can he not be?
It promises to be a very interesting Sunday afternoon at Pittodrie. Just don’t be surprised to see Dobbie’s name on the score sheet.
