Hearts veteran striker is a man who played for many clubs in a long and distinguished career. However, one aspect of the current situation at Tynecastle has taken him back.
That situation is the current injury problems that the Tynecastle club face. Naismith believes that it is the worst injury crisis he has ever seen in his time playing football.

“I’ve never been involved in an injury crisis like this, it is incredible” Naismith said, whilst appearing on BBC Sportsound.
“You’ve arguably got five players who would start every week who are out.”
Naismith is currently one of a number of Hearts first-team players who are currently out injured. He has been missed, as the Tynecastle club have found scoring goals difficult so far this season.

In the league they have only scored nine goals in 12 games, and in their most recent league game they were held to a goalless draw by St Mirren.

The return of Naismith should certainly help Hearts find the back of the net again. However, the overall injury situation at the club could stop Hearts from being as competitive as they would like to be. The likes of Peter Haring, Craig Halkett and Conor Washington will be missed badly until they are fully fit.
With the international break on the horizon, perhaps that two weeks could be used to get players back on the road to fitness.
With the Betfred Cup semi-final against Rangers less than a month away, Hearts will need some of their injured players back if they are to stand a chance of reaching their second domestic cup final in less than a year.
