Aberdeen attacker Steve May has pleaded with his team-mates to keep their discipline ahead of what could be a tempestuous trip to Ibrox to face Rangers.

The Dons have been involved in two games where five red cards have been issued in the last two weeks.

Firstly, the Pittodrie side lost their discipline and had two men sent-off in the Scottish Cup semi-final loss to Celtic.

Then just last week, Kilmarnock had three players sent-off as the Dons won 1-0 at Rugby Park.

“Don’t let your emotions get the better of you”

“Don’t let your emotions get the better of you; we’ve done that well to an extent but there are times when the boys will be disappointed with how they’ve reacted” he disclosed to the Press and Journal.

There have been a few red cards in matches between Rangers and Aberdeen this season. In fact, two of the games between the sides have seen more than one red card issued.

Keeping discipline will be key to victory

If the Dons are to get their fourth win of the season against the Ibrox side, keeping their discipline will be a key way to go about that.

Derek McInnes will be warning his players to avoid getting involved in any incidents that could lead to red cards.

If the players listen to him and heed May’s warning, Aberdeen could once again prevail over Rangers.
