Easter Road is home to plenty of young talent. It may be time for three Hibs youngsters to make the step into first-team football in Leith.

Some fans may hope to see some Hibs youngsters get involved next season. Here are three players who could appear in Heckingbottom’s side during the 2019/20 campaign.

Jamie Gullan

The striker was on loan at Raith Rovers during the latter half of last season. He scored his only Raith goal in the Championship play-offs against Forfar.

The Hibees are light in the striker department just now. With Hibs returning for pre-season very shortly, Gullan needs to use that time to make an impression on Heckingbottom.

If he can, expect him to get some minutes in the Betfred Cup groups stage matches, which could lead to further Premiership appearances.

Josh Campbell

Campbell is another player who has first team experience, having spent time at Airdrieonians during the first half of 2019.

He’s typically a midfielder but Campbell has been know to play a variety of positions. His versatility could see his chances of a first-team berth increase under Heckingbottom.

Having managed 14 matches with the Diamonds, the youngster now has first-team experience. This should make him all the more aware of what it takes to break into a first team squad.

Jack Hodge

I’ve already waxed lyrical about Hodge. Hibs recently snapped up the midfielder from St Johnstone.

He is a brilliant combative midfielder, equally capable at shooting from 25 yards as he is making last ditch tackles. He may have just arrived in the Hibs academy but I’d expect him to progress from it soon.

The Hibees need an anchorman in midfield. If they could bring an experienced one in, Hodge could learn from their experience, and may even get some minutes to show what he’s learned from them.
