It is one of the lesser-known stories of Scottish football, the continued success of Hamilton Accies.

Despite having a small budget and low attendances, they have survived in the Scottish Premiership for the last three seasons.

That could all be coming to an end however, unless results rapidly improve.

The recent 3-0 loss to Aberdeen saw Hamilton’s lead over 11th place Dundee cut to only 1 point.

It also piled pressure on manager Martin Canning.

Canning has already had to deal with fans arguing with his father in the recent Scottish Cup loss to St Johnstone.

There might not be many Hamilton fans, but they aren’t afraid to make some noise, and they won’t be happy with the loss to Aberdeen.

Unfortunately for Canning, Hamilton’s next game is a league trip to Celtic Park, where another heavy defeat will heap even more pressure on him.

A success for Hamilton is finishing in 10th place in the league table, and that is their current league postion.

But the tide does seem to be turning towards the bottom of the Scottish Premiership table, with 11th placed Dundee winning 2-1 against Hearts.

It remains to be seem how long Canning will last at Hamilton, but he needs some results fast, over his time as manager will be over.
