It has been a rollercoaster week for St Mirren.
Firstly, they came from 2-0 down with 10 men to defeat Alloa 3-2 in the Scottish Cup.
However, they look to have the ideal fixture to bounce back in, and get only their 4th win of the season.
The Paisley side are at home to out of form Hibernian on Sunday, who most recently suffered a 1-0 defeat to Motherwell.
These are the sort of games that Owen Kearney’s side must win if they are to have any chance of avoiding the drop.
Kearney’s side were unfortunate not to win at Easter Road in December in a 2-2 draw, and they should have no fear of getting the 3 points.
The Saints know that they are only 1 point behind Dundee and 2 points benhind Hamilton in the table, and a win could see the bottom of the table change dramatically.
With Hamilton away to Celtic and Dundee at home to Motherwell, it seems highly likely that at least one of those teams will drop points.
With only 11 games left before the Scottish Premiership splits, points are at a premium at the bottom of the table.
Kearney and his players know that a win over Hibernian could be the springboard to survival.
