Rumours linking Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet with a £5 million transfer to Swansea City are not accurate, NTOF understands.

Earlier on Monday, it was reported that the English Championship club had made their move to sign Hibs’ striker. The transfer window shuts on Tuesday night and Hibs are keen to keep all of their main assets – and one of them isn’t going to Swansea City at this moment.

Despite reports linking Nisbet with a seven-figure move to Swansea City, NTOF understands that there is nothing to suggest a move to Wales will happen for Nisbet. He is currently on international duty with Scotland ahead of three World Cup qualifiers next month.

The striker joined Hibs last summer from Dunfermline Athletic and has been a revelation for the Scottish Premiership side. His form has catapulted him into Scotland head coach Steve Clarke’s plans while he almost won a move to Birmingham City earlier this year.

Hibs head coach Jack Ross is in talks with Nisbet and his representatives over a new contract for the in-demand player. It’s not the first time false rumours have spread about Nisbet this month, wrongly linked with a move to Celtic too. Hibs still want to add to their ranks, Middlesbrough defender Nathan Wood set to arrive imminently.
