Scotland new boy Jacob Brown has opened up on making his international debut in the win over Moldova before following it up with a cameo against Denmark at Hampden on Monday – calling it an “honour” to pull on the dark blue of Scotland.

The Stoke star was a surprise addition to Steve Clarke’s squad for the World Cup qualifying double-header with Moldova and Denmark as Clarke looked to replace the suspended Lyndon Dykes for the crunch games.

Brown took to Twitter to hail the experience of playing at a packed Hampden as Scotland sealed a seeded spot in the March playoffs, taking to Twitter to express his delight.

“What an experience last week was! An honour to make my Scotland debut and to be involved in that night at Hampden,” Brown tweeted.

With Scotland now gearing up for a World cup playoff in March, Brown will be hoping he can continue his impressive club form and remain in Steve Clarke’s thoughts for the Hampden crunch that could see the Tartan Army take a step closer to thefinals in Qatar.

Having missed out since 1998, a World Cup finals appearance hot on the heels of Euro 2020 would be a fantastic achievement for Scotland and Steve Clarke’s players.
