Angelo Alessio has been left to lament a late goal against his side as Kilmarnock lost 1-0 against Ross County.
The game was pretty even, swinging from one end to the other throughout the 90 minutes. Killie did have chances to get on the scoresheet, with the likes of Eamonn Brophy, Dario Del Fabro and Connor Johnson all spurning chances.
They were made to pay in the final minutes as former Killie striker Lee Erwin knocked home a County winner. Alessio remains in fifth but County are just a point behind them in seventh.
Killie’s Italian boss reckons that a draw was probably a fairer reflection of the game.
“I’m very disappointed,” he said. “I think the right result was a draw as it was a tough game. We had some opportunities to score as did County. So I think a draw was right.
“We conceded a corner then defend badly. I’m disappointed about this. We had three opportunities to score but this is football. If you don’t score the game is open.
“We have to learn and improve because we aren’t a young team, we have experienced players. Conceding the opportunity which allowed County to score was very bad.”
