The highlight of Hibernian’s recent 2-0 win over Kilmarnock was undeniably Alex Gogic’s goal which sealed the three points.
He hammered the ball into the top corner of the net from the edge of the penalty area to put Hibernian two goals up. It was the 26-year-old’s first goal of the season, and it was a strike that any of the team’s forwards would have been proud to score.
Gogic reflected on the goal after the game. He disclosed that usually his teammates tell him not to shoot, as scoring goals isn’t his forte. However, on this occasion he defied his teammates with spectacular results.
“One to remember”
“I’m very happy to get my first goal. This was probably my best (goal). One to remember for sure. The boys always say don’t shoot, but I’ll shoot” he said.

Gogic thought that it was important for Hibernian to get the win over Kilmarnock to get confidence into the side before the Betfred Cup semi-final against St Johnstone this weekend.
Hibernian had been winless in four league games before playing Kilmarnock, but they had picked up a point against Celtic.
“We played well”
“I think obviously we had a bit of a downturn in results here, against Ross County and Livingston. I think going to Celtic Park we played well, and definitely deserved a point. To win and keep another clean sheet, it’s very important just to build back and get to our winning ways” Gogic said.

A second win in a row will see Hibernian reach their first cup final since 2016. Gogic will be a key man at Hampden, but he might not score another superb strike on this occasion.
