Jamie Barjonas is looking forward to linking up with one of his Rangers academy mates at Firhill- and playing alongside a Celtic loanee won’t be bad either.
Barjonas has joined Partick Thistle on a loan deal from Ibrox until the end of the season. He is one of a number of Ian McCall recruits, including Zak Rudden from Rangers and Lee O’Connor from Celtic.

Others include Blair Lyons, Darren Brownlie, Darian MacKinnon and Brian Graham. It’s been a big recruitment drive that has brought in some talent from across the SPFL.
There’s two in particular Barjonas is looking forward to linking up with. The midfielder says he has heard all about Celtic full-back O’Connor whilst he and Rudden go way back.
“I have had a good chat with Lee – he’s not even a Celtic fan – he’s a United fan,” said Barjonas. “He’s a really good defender though.

“I’m pals with Liam Burt at Celtic and I had a chat with him about Lee when I heard he was coming in. He’s a good defender, he’s a ball player who will do the dirty side, winning tackles and headers so I’m looking forward to playing with him.
“I can’t get away from Zak! I have been best pals with him for the last eight or nine years. I know exactly how he plays.
“He is a hard working player who will score goals. We bring the best out of each other. I’m not afraid to talk to him if he’s having a bad game. We bounce off each other that way and there is no bad blood that way.”
