Callum Davidson has provided a St Johnstone transfer update following his side’s defeat to Motherwell at Fir Park.

A frustrating game for the McDiarmid Park boss, a goal inside four minutes from Allan Campbell settled things between the two teams. The Perthshire Saints did have chances but they were all passed up as they slipped to defeat.

It leaves them sixth in the table with two wins from seven, just three points separating fifth and 12th place in the Scottish Premiership.

Davidson says his side are better than what they showed at Fir Park as he provided a transfer update: “We are working hard. Unfortunately it’s a long transfer window.

“There’s always players coming up and things to do. We will work hard to try and get one or two out and one or two in and hopefully we can improve. We have performed really well this season.

“We have been getting into good areas and moving the ball really well. I thought we were just a little bit off it. We are capable of better but you have to credit Motherwell, they sat in and frustrated us really well.

“Let’s just say it wasn’t the most attractive game of football. When you get your chances you’ve got to take them, Motherwell did and we didn’t. We gave them the opportunity to fight for something.”
