Chris Burke has praised both Aaron Tshibola and Nicke Kabamba following a 1-0 win for Kilmarnock over St Mirren in the Premiership on Saturday afternoon.

The veteran winger set up the only goal of a tight contest in glorious conditions at St Mirren Park, but he was quick to highlight the contributions of his teammates.

Tshibola stood out midfield for the visitors and Burke believes he’s benefitted from an extended run in the team since his return to Rugby Park in July.

“He’s doing great, he’s been excellent since coming in,” he said. “He’s flourishing because he’s a player that probably likes a consistency of games and then it shows his quality.”

“He’s very easy on the eye when you watch him, he has great technical ability and he can also dig in and win the second balls.

“He’s a presence in that middle three or even if it’s a middle two, he can break the line very well and create opportunities for the front players but he can also screen and get back when needed.”

“So, he’s great. We had him before and the manager wanted him back because he’s a quality player to have for the team.”

Burke then went on to praise Killie’s matchwinner, Kabamba.

The 27-year-old is enjoying a strong run of form at the minute, with his goal in Paisley his fourth in his last four outings.

“Kabamba scoring is great, [as a striker] you’re always probably judged at the end of your career on goals,” he added.

“He’s definitely a selfless player and that shows in his performances. Now, he’s getting more goals to his game which is great and I’m sure he knows himself that you have to capture these moments because he’s scored four now and hopefully, he can keep that run going.”
