Scoring two goals was ok- but keeping the ball out the net at the other end was far more important to Falkirk defender Ben Hall.
The former Motherwell centre-back made quite the impression at the weekend. He scored two and kept a clean sheet in a convincing 6-0 win over Forfar Athletic.
It puts the Bairns one point behind Raith in the race for the League One title. Tonight could secure a place in the Scottish Cup last 16 for Falkirk also as they take on Arbroath in a fourth round replay.
Keeping clean sheets is far more important than goals though for Hall as he settles into life at the Falkirk Stadium: “I think they were trying to say the first goal wasn’t mine!
“But I’ll claim it. The clean sheet is more important than the two goals obviously but it’s nice to get on the scoresheet. I think it is a massive boost for us though but you can only take it one game at a time.

“We’re just going to concentrate on ourselves and hope the teams around us slip up at some point. We can take that into Tuesday night’s game and hopefully we can progress in the cup. It’ll be a completely different game on Tuesday. It’ll hopefully be the same outcome and we’ll progress.
“It’s been a really easy dressing room to settle into. All the boys have been brilliant and the two managers have been top notch. I’ve played nowhere near enough games in the last few years so it’s just about getting back playing and enjoying it again.”
In other club news, Robbie Mutch has signed a new Falkirk deal. The goalkeeper has been in impressive form this term and has now signed a contract extension. It keeps him with the Bairns until 2022.
