Rafa De Vita says it was a ‘positive day’ for him on Saturday as he made his Falkirk debut- and turned his attention to the League One crown.

The Italian had been on loan at Partick Thistle during the first part of this season. His loan there though was cut short and Livingston have now sent him to Falkirk until the end of the season.

He featured during the Bairns’ 3-0 win over Dumbarton. Two goals from Declan McManus and a Charlie Telfer effort secured a big three points for the League One side. They remain third in the table.

De Vita says he’s happy to be at the Falkirk Stadium: “It was good, you want your debut to be a winning game. I was pleased to get on the pitch so it was a positive day.

“It would have been good to start with a goal but the most important thing is that we keep putting results together and hopefully get to the top of the league as soon as we can. It’s a massive club, it shouldn’t be in League One.

“Our target is to win the league. Every team that comes here plays like it’s a Champions League final. We’re more than capable of competing at the top of the league.”

De Vita’s also happy to have put a bad spell at Firhill behind him: “I was on loan at Partick Thistle but it didn’t really work out. It was a bit of a nightmare for me. I don’t see myself as taking a move back into League One, this is as good a move I could get.

“Thistle are a big club but if you come here and look at the facilities, and what you get, you get everything you need to succeed. I’m delighted to be here.”
