Dunfermline are currently in an excellent run of form. Manager Stevie Crawford has seen his side go to the top of the Championship table, and also reach the last eight of the Betfred Cup.

The Pars are next in action on Saturday, when they take on Raith Rovers in an all-Fife clash. Raith sit in third place in the Championship, only three points behind Dunfermline, so it won’t be an easy game for the Championship leaders.

Yet to play on losing side

One player who has made an impact for Crawford’s team this season has been veteran right-back Steven Whittaker. The former Rangers and Hibernian man has yet to play on a losing side for Dunfermline.

However, he was on the bench for the recent Betfred Cup game against Arbroath, as he deals with a hamstring issue.

Crawford is hopeful that the player will not be out of action for long with the injury, and the club are aiming to make sure that the injury does not become a long-term one.

“Not trained in the early parts of the week”

“Steven’s still not trained in the early parts of the week, so again, I’m not ruling him out. With it being a hamstring we’ve just got to be cautious, we don’t make that a longer-term injury” he said.

The manager also disclosed that Whitaker will know himself how his injury is, as he has been in the game for so long.

“Steven very much knows his own body as well. Working along with Jamie the physio, we’ll see where we are later on in the week with that one.”
