Dundee boss James McPake has been encouraged by the chances that the team has created despite not winning any of their last three games.
The Dens Park club have lost their last two games, most recently suffering a 3-2 loss to Queen of the South. However, despite the poor results, McPake is taking some comfort from the fact that Dundee have created so many chances in the games.
“That is the positive”
“That is the positive. If we were sitting here and results weren’t great, and we weren’t getting chances to win games and score goals I’d be a lot more concerned than I am” he said.
“I’m concerned, because we’re not where we should be in the league, we know that. We’ve got the games in hand. But it’s about using those games in hand to put the points on the board. But we are creating chances, and we are creating real good chances, but what we must do is tighten up at the back” McPake went on.
Manager impressed with January signings
The Dundee boss has been pleased with how January arrivals Paul McMullan and Jason Cummings have performed since they arrived at the club.
“They’ve been great. For Jason to get 90 minutes and Paul, to be fair to the two of them, they both got the 90 on Saturday, they were both a real threat throughout the game.
“You can see in training, both are getting really sharp and up to speed. Hopefully they can continue to impress for us on the pitch” he concluded.
Dundee will look to get back to winning ways when they travel to Morton on Saturday.
