St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin has opened up on the difficulties the club have encountered ahead of their trip to Dingwall to play Ross County this afternoon.
The Paisley club have had their usual preparations for a trip to Dingwall disrupted by the current Covid-19 pandemic. St Mirren planned to stay in a hotel ahead of the game, but that won’t be happening now. The team will even have to take their own food to the match.
“Another kind of obstacle”
“It’s a nightmare, to be honest with you. We got an email from our hotel we were due to go to pre-match in Inverness, unfortunately because of restrictions that kick in on Boxing Day. We’re not able to get pre-match, another kind of obstacle that’s put in our way” he said.

“It’s not ideal preparation, it’s not professional, to be perfectly honest with you. But what can we do, there’s a pandemic going on, the Government are shutting hotels. Unfortunately we can’t get any food up there. So, we’ll need to bring a backed lunch in the good old days like we used to do at school. Hopefully that little bit of adversity will lift us a wee bit” Goodwin explained.
Looking to get back on track after defeat
The Saints go into the game hoping to get back on track after their long unbeaten run came to an end against Hibernian on Wednesday night.

“We need to try and make sure we’re organised to bounce back, and not lose another game. If we get a point great, if we come away with all three I’ll be delighted” Goodwin mused.
