Ross County boss John Hughes knows that his side will be huge underdogs when they travel to Ibrox to face Rangers on Saturday.

The Ibrox are dominating the Scottish Premiership, and currently hold a 20 point lead at the top of the table. Ross County are at the opposite end of the table, as they sit in eighth place. However, the Dingwall side go into the game in good spirits, having defeated Aberdeen 4-1 last week.

Hughes hopes that his players embrace the challenge of playing at Ibrox, and don’t get overwhelmed by playing the league leaders.

“Try and implement”

“I’m asking my players to really embrace that challenge. To be inspired, to see what you’ve got and try and implement your individual game on it” he said.

“What a stage to go and do that. That’s what I’ll be saying to the players. We’ll have a game plan, and I’m looking forward to it.”

Hughes also addressed the relegation battle that the club is currently in. As it stands, County are one point ahead of Motherwell and Hamilton. He expects the battle to survive in the Premiership to go to the very end of the season.

“Right down to the wire”

“I think it’ll go right down to the wire. Honestly, I don’t even get caught up in all of that. My purpose is to concentrate on my team, and that’s the only thing I can influence. That’s been my main set coming in here.

“Seeing what I’ve got, and I’ve said this on numerous occasions, try and improve each individual that comes together collectively. My main focus has been on my team, my players, making them better individually. Let them go and express themselves” he concluded.
