He’s enjoyed the high-life at the likes of Leeds United – but now a League One table climb with Peterhead is all that’s on Joshua Rae’s mind

The goalkeeper has been Peterhead’s number one this term, still only 20-years-old. Rae has been with the likes of Hibs and Leeds United, but his senior experience has come with Edinburgh City and Queen’s Park.

He’s now got a run of consistent games at Balmoor, who sit one point off the bottom. Speaking after the 2-1 defeat to league leaders Falkirk, with a game against East Fife to come this weekend, Rae says points have to be won.

“We went in at half-time against Falkirk and we didn’t think it was good enough,” said Rae. “There were two mistakes for the goals so it was difficult to take.

“I don’t feel as if we were outplayed but I feel we performed better in the second half. Personally I felt I did ok but the most important thing is the three points and we didn’t get that.

“There’s been positives all season. I don’t feel as if we have performed badly in many games. We just need to turn good performances into points because it’s not good being near the bottom.”
