Derek McInnes has provided a fitness update on Zak Vyner after he missed the latest Aberdeen clash with Ross County.

Vyner has been in stellar form in recent weeks. Since finding himself in the CDM role, the Bristol City loanee has impressed in front of the Red Army back four.

At the weekend though he was nowhere to be seen as McInnes’ men swept past Ross County 3-1.

Josh Mullin had put County in front from the penalty spot after four minutes before Niall McGinn equalised with a brilliant free kick six minutes later.

Ryan Hedges’ free kick had Aberdeen in front and Andy Considine sealed the points with a brilliant curling effort. The Pittodrie side are now third heading into the international break.

In the wake of this pleasing result, McInnes has said Vyner was out with a shoulder injury: “He went in for a challenge with Conor McLennan, it was a pretty innocuous one.

“The AC joint on the top of his shoulder has slipped out of the joint and thankfully it went straight back in.

“We’re hopeful he’s going to be back for the next game.”
