Partick Thistle manager Ian McCall has praised the Jags’ Brentford loanee Reece Cole following a stunning cup display.
Cole bagged one goal and notched two assists as Thistle comfortably progressed into the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup semi-finals with a 4-1 over Stenhousemuir.

They will join Inverness, Rangers Colts and Raith Rovers in the next Challenge Cup stage and it’s largely thanks to Cole’s Ochilview contributions.
He provided a corner which led to Gary Harkins’ strike and the midfielder also set up Kenny Miller for the Jags’ fourth. His best moment though was a goal of his own.
Picking the ball up from halfway inside the Warriors half, Cole hit his shot expertly , placing his powerful strike beyond Graeme Smith from all of 25 yards to give Thistle the lead.

Speaking after the game, McCall has hailed the Bees midfielder: “None of these games are ever easy. We have Penicuik next week, so hopefully we can build some momentum.
“Cole really can play. He would have been in the team about a month ago but he hurt his hamstring but he’s a great prospect.
“He really can play and I enjoyed watching him today.”
