Raith Rovers manager John McGlynn has praised Hibs loanee Jamie Gullan after impressing during his loan stint at Stark’s Park so far.
The Hibees kid has netted three times whilst juggling Development Squad responsibilities with his duties at Rovers.
He has featured regularly for Raith as well as some games for the Development Squad. During Hibs’ latest Development Squad game, he started against Celtic.
Overall he was arguably the best player on the park, notching an assist as the young Hibees beat Celtic 1-0.
McGlynn says that he’s been pleased with Gullan, but he thinks it’s at Raith where he’ll gain the most experience.
The Raith boss said: “Jamie’s a good player, there’s absolutely no doubt about that. He’s scored goals for us. It’s difficult for them trying to get the balance between reserve football and coming and playing with us.
“Reserve team football is a vehicle for the parent club, Hibs, to get youngsters coming through. But there’s no doubt that playing in the top end of League One where it’s really competitive and your playing where it really matters, this is where you will gain the experience.
“There are experienced players out there who want to make it difficult for you and you need to come up with the solutions for how to, in his case, score the goals and link play.
“It’s about showing what he’s got so he can learn from his experience at Raith Rovers and go back to try and get in that Hibs first-team.
“That’s what he’s got to show and no doubt they’ll make an assessment on his performances.”
