Steven Saunders has praised Brentford and QPR pair Reece Cole and Osman Kakay for their Firhill contributions so far.
The pair have impressed since arriving from their respective London clubs in the summer. Cole has come onto a game in midfield whilst Kakay has looked steady at right-back for Partick Thistle.
Whilst the Jags are currently in the Championship’s relegation spots, it hasn’t taken away from the loan pair’s decent displays. They both could head back to London in January though upon the expiry of their loans.
Saunders doesn’t know whether they’ll stay at Thistle or not, but he does know Cole and Kakay have been useful for Ian McCall.
“Sometimes you can’t play pretty football in this league and games have to be dug out,” he said. “The results that we’ve picked up since the gaffer’s came in have been away from home. That seems to be what’s working for us just now.
“He (McCall) wants to play in the opposition half and on the front foot. The signs are there that we’re starting to progress. If you start keeping clean sheets we will win a lot more games.
“I think the boys that have come in on loan have did well. They have made a positive impact. Reece gets all the goals so he gets all the headlines.
“I think Osman has done really well. He’s helped us defend well and he attacks really well and brings another bit of competition for Ryan Williamson at right-back.”
